Augie, through his previous experience as the Estate Sommelier for Meadowood Napa Valley, draws on his wine education, world travels, and Napa Valley upbringing to provide a unique perspective to On Q Wines.
He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Biology in 2007 from the University of Dallas, where he was a three-year letter winner in baseball. After graduation, he moved back home to Napa Valley and began to work in the local wine and restaurant industries. Augie furthered his wine knowledge and experience at the Michelin rated Étoile restaurant at Domaine Chandon in Yountville.
During this time, he made various trips to Europe where he studied local viticulture and wine. Augie is a Certified Sommelier with the Court of Master Sommeliers. Augie’s enthusiasm to learn about all aspects of wine and viticulture in conjunction with his passion to share that knowledge make him a natural fit for On Q Wines.
Augie was the resident Sommelier at Meadowood and the driving force behind their Wine Experiences Program. He expanded its scope and created new programs, all while managing Meadowood’s three meal period, high-volume restaurant, The Grill at Meadowood Napa Valley.
